To reanimate the sounds or the possible sounds of the past and the future.
Janneke Albers with Frouke Wiarda
Together with theatre maker and mimeplayer Janneke Albers, we developed the performance G’ruis in which we used 5000 kilo concrete granules. Out of this material we designed a futuristic landscape. With basic attributes she manipulates her surrounding and by doing so matter becomes sound: every tactile moment produces sound. With (live)electronics I work with the shape, the volume and the structure of sound. We draw our audience into our world, hinting of things to come, shaping each character with tempo, pitch, range and melody. G’ruis is a multidiscipline performance, that unites elements of soundart, movementtheater and architecture. The equivalency of these elements create an allround experience for the audience. The moment of wonder and surprise create new experiences in which traces of history are present.G’ruis stimulates the perception and out of gray unimaginative demolition, unexpectedly fabulous worlds appear.
